about me

 sien méndez is an artist and training to become a (radical, leftist) mental health counselor + art therapist based in seattle, wa
​
they are currently pursuing their  MA in clinical mental health counseling and art therapy at antioch university with a certificate in sex therapy

they hold a BFA in orginal works from ​cornish college of the arts 

their work celebrates the joy of all of their identities as a mixed, puerto rican, queer,  shaky individual
​
they want to make art that feels like the sun on your face at 2pm in august in texas and the clouds threatening rain in november in the pacific northwest. they make art to question things and to touch magic. 

they are  currently dedicating their energy and creativity toward pursuing the following letters: LMHC , ATR!   sien is aspiring to become a  clinical mental health counselor and art therapist. they strive to someday soon  cultivate radical joy and healing  within diverse communities, with a focus in LGBTQIA2S+ youth and adults, the chronically ill and disabled communities,  the socioeconomic classes that are disregarded, and   in people with a wide spectrum of neurodiversity. they strive to work to acknowledge the whiteness of the body they occupy from a multi-cultural lens.   Sex therapy and death doula certifications are on my agenda. I am influenced by the frameworks of queer theory, cognitive psychology, socioculturalism, existentialism, and anti-capitalism. ​
